B'lore, Mysore JnNURM projects get Centre's nod

The Centre on Tuesday approved 10 infrastructure projects including building of flyovers, grade separators and diversion of sewerage waters in Bangalore and Mysore, involving expenditure of Rs 1412.76 crore under the Centrally sponsored Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM).

The central sanctioning and monitoring committee chaired by Union Urban Development Secretary Sudhir Krishna also decided that of the total expenditure, Rs 574.43 crore will be borne by the Centre with the rest being covered by the State government.

The projects approved include construction of elevated corridor at Ejipura main road-Inner Ring Road junction-Sony World junction, and Kendriya Sadan junction along 100 ft Inner Ring Road at Koramangala in Bengalore at a cost of Rs 163. 35 crore. Construction of elevated road from Minerva Circle and Hudson Circle in Bangalore with expenditure of Rs 129.10 crore.

Sewerage diversion and flood mitigation to improve environmental conditions surrounding water bodies in Dasarahalli zone I and zone II, at Rs 156 crore. Sewerage diversion and flood mitigation to improve environmental conditions surrounding water bodies in Mahadevapura (Phase-I) at Rs 3 crore and development and maintenance of four water bodies near Yelahanka at Rs 220.82 crore.

Likewise, in Mysore city, four grade separaters will be constructed at Mysore city-JSS-Nanjangud Road Junction at Rs 26.98 crore; Hunsur Road and Outer Ring Road Junction at Rs 15.18 crore; KRS Road and Outer Ring Road Junction at Rs 9.82 crore; and Bangalore-Mysore Road and Outer Ring Road Junction in Mysore at Rs 14.62 crore.

Besides, the Centre also approved release of Rs 119 crore for ongoing construction of under ground sewerage system and road restoration at Mahadevapura and Rs 10.40 crore for ongoing underground drainage works at Kengeri in Bangalore.
