A man, along with three other people who was transporting cattle, was found dead in a hilly area in Perdur under mysterious circumstances early Wednesday.

The deceased is Husseinabba, 62, and a resident of Jokatte near Surathkal. He was into cattle trade for the last 35 years. He had a valid panchayat licence for his trade.

According to his brother-in-law Shekunhi, Bajrang Dal activists killed Husseinabba, who was travelling in a Scorpio along with the cattle. Charging that Husseinabba was murdered by people known to him, he said two years ago, Husseinabba was tied up by Bajrang Dal activists and forced to drink urine. Husseinabba’s family was informed of his death by an unknown person through the victim’s phone.

Congress leader M A Gafoor said the death was suspicious and an enquiry should be ordered to ensure justice to the victim. A case of murder was registered at the Hiriyadka police station.
