Centre tapping phones to know our poll strategy, says Reddy

Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Friday reiterated his charges that the Centre was tapping phones of Congress leaders by misusing federal investigative agencies.

He told reporters that the phones of over 100 Congress leaders were being tapped for the past 15 days to know the party’s election strategy. “We have credible information in this regard. The state government will take up this issue with the Centre.”

He further accused that the Centre was targeting Congress leaders in Karnataka ahead of the elections. “The Income Tax department has been conducting raids on leaders and businessmen, who are closely associated with the party.”

Reddy charged the BJP with carrying out a misinformation campaign against the Congress through advertisements. “The claims made by the saffron party in its advertisements are baseless. The BJP should advertise about its leader B S Yeddyurappa going to jail.”
