CM has cheated the farmers, says BSY

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday accused Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who also holds the Finance portfolio, of cheating the farming community.

“The finance minister is silent on the issue of mobilising the resources to compensate the loan waiver of Rs 34,000 crore. Farmers should not get carried away by the debt waiver. The chief minister should clarify how he is going to make the provision. He has also burdened the common man by increasing the petrol and diesel rates and levied higher tax on power tariff,” he said.

Terming the budget as ‘older brother-younger brother’ budget, Yeddyurappa slammed Kumaraswamy for ‘restricting’ the budget to Hassan and Ramanagar districts.

He said that the state government had neglected north, Malnad and coastal Karnataka, while small traders, fishermen and poorer sections were not part of the budget.

Yedyyurappa said that the BJP would protest against the budget both inside and outside the House.
