CM’s fund gets over Rs 140 crore for Kodagu

Several donors lined up to meet Chief Minister Kumaraswamy on Saturday to hand over cheques for relief works in Kodagu.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the relief fund received donations of around Rs 142 crore till date. While Rs 102 crore has been collected from the five lakh government employees (who have donated their one day’s salary), around Rs 40 crore has been collected from other sources. On Saturday, B R Shetty, chairman, World Bunt’s Foundation Trust, donated a cheque for Rs 1 crore to the fund, while the Sringeri Sharada Peetham donated
Rs 11 lakh. Kumaraswamy said he would briefly take part in the padayatra being organised by the Adichunchangiri Mutt on Sunday to collect donations.

Suttur Mutt - Rs 50 lakh; BBMP - Rs 3.5 crore; KMF, Bengaluru - Rs 1 crore; KIADB - Rs 1 crore; MSIL - Rs 1 crore; APMC, Yeshwantpur - Rs 1 crore; Vijaya Bank, Bengaluru - Rs 2 crore; BWSSB - Rs 1 crore; BMRDA - Rs 1 crore; MML - Rs 5 crore.

Hutti Gold Mines - Rs 2.5 crore; MP Kuppendra Reddy - Rs 25 lakh; Actor Shivaraj Kumar - Rs 10 lakh; Karnataka Chalanachtira Academy - Rs 20 lakh; Kidwai Hospital - Rs 14.14 lakh; Jayadeva Hospital - Rs 22.5 lakh.
