Coalition govt a challenge at every step, admits HDK

"I wish to provide a stable government for the full five-year term. There are challenges at every step as problems exist," admitted Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.

Speaking after seeking the blessings of the Siddaganga mutt seer Shivakumara Swamiji on Thursday, the newly sworn-in CM told reporters that the coalition was an outcome of no single party gaining an absolute majority.

"Please wait patiently till the floor test tomorrow. I will answer the Opposition on the floor of the Assembly tomorrow and share my sentiments with the media also," he pleaded.   

Kumaraswamy said that he had not promised in the JD(S) manifesto that he would take action against the previous government's corrupt people. He also denied that he had made such a mention in his speeches. "I have only highlighted the development programmes for farmers in the manifesto and my speeches," he claimed. 

With regard to the Yettinahole and Bhadra projects, he said that he would not allow any irregularities to occur.  

"I may have been sworn-in as CM, but I can make a statement on the government's stand only after the floor test tomorrow," Kumaraswamy added.  

The CM said that he was aware of a mob lynching that occurred in Chamarajapet in Bengaluru where a man mistaken for a kidnapper. "I have asked the police authorities to take stringent action against those responsible," he added.
