The Congress has accused the BJP-led Union government of usurping funds to the tune of Rs 10 lakh crore in the last four years in petroleum scam.
Former Union ministers Pradeep Jain and Deepa Dasmunshi, and AICC Media cell chief Jaiveer Shergill, during a joint press meet at DCC office in Mangaluru, levelled serious charges against the Centre.

"After BJP-led NDA government came to power at the Centre, the prices of crude oil has come down considerably. But the Union government has increased the excise duty on petroleum products. What happened to the money, running into thousands of crores, generated from excise duty on petroleum products," the Congress leaders questioned.

The BJP has issued tickets for the Assembly polls to seven persons from the camp of Reddy brothers, who were involved in multi-crore illegal mining scam. It has lost the moral right to level graft charges against the Congress, said Deepa Dasmunshi.
