3-day ISHA conference in Mysuru begins tomorrow

Mysuru Chapter of the Indian Speech and Hearing Association (MyISHA), is hosting Golden Jubilee Conference at All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), from January 5.

Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala will inaugurate the three-day conference at 6.15 pm and Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, member of the erstwhile royal family, will be the guest of honour.

Over 2,000 audiologists and speech-language pathologists from India and abroad, including the USA, Australia, UAE, Bangladesh, Nepal, will attend the conference. The conference includes scientific session.

Experts will deliver lectures on topics such as language recovery in Aphasia, pediatric feeding disorders and intervention, professional voice management, motor speech disorders in neuro-developmental syndromes, dead regions of the cochlear, clinical applications of OAE, cross-check principles in Diagnostic Audiology, certification of disability and funding opportunities for aids and appliances.

The conference will enable the professionals to provide better clinical services to those with communication problems. In addition, around 220 research papers will be presented by the students and the professionals.

Expo

The exhibition on the recent technical advances, speech and hearing products have been scheduled during the event. Companies will put up around 50 stalls.
