43,620 students to appear for SSLC exams in Mysuru

A total of 43,620 candidates will appear for SSLC examinations commencing today in 147 centres throughout the district.

Of the candidates, 22,228 are boys and 21,392 are girls. Besides students from 614 schools in the district, 2,009 candidates are attending the exams privately. Arrangements have been made for 76 specially abled students to avail the aid of scribes.

H R Basappa, Deputy Director of Public Instruction, said, all arrangements are in place to conduct the examinations in a smooth manner.

To check malpractices, eight inspection squads have been formed at the district level. Apart from it, a total of 27 squads; three squads per educational block has been formed to monitor the examination.

Each examination centre will have a superintendent, two supervisors and necessary staff.  Adequate arrangements to provide drinking water and others have also been made. Prohibitory orders will be in place, for a radius of 200 metres around the examination centres during the exams, he said. On the first day, students will appear for first language — Kannada, Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Sanskrit — from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.

There will be 28 centres at Mysuru North educational block, where 6,967 candidates will appear for the exams. Mysuru South block has 26 centres with 6,993 candidates, Mysuru rural has 15 centres with 4,803 candidates, T Narispur has 13 centres with 4,165 candidates, Nanjangud 17 centres with 5,634 students, H D Kote 10 centres with 3,754 students, Periyapatna and K R Nagar have 12 centres each with 3,534 and 3,533 candidates respectively and Hunsur has 14 centres with 4,237 candidates.

City limits
According to a press release by the Police Commissioner, prohibitory orders will be in place around 54 examination centres in the city, from 6 am to 6 pm, between March 30 and April 13.

Mandya
In Mandya 25,638 candidates will appear for examinations in 96 exam centres in the district. Of the candidates, 13,462 are boys and 12,176 girls. While 690 candidates are appearing for the exams privately, 595 candidates will be repeaters.

Chamarajanagar
In Chamarajanagar district, a total of 13,554 candidates will appear for exams in 45 centres. Among the candidates, 7,037 are boys and 6,517 girls. 421 candidates are appearing for exams privately and 306 will be repeaters.
