80 pc polling in Chikkamagaluru

The district has recorded 80.07 percent polling, held for 1934 seats of 203 Gram Panchayats, on Friday.

A maximum voting of 83.45 p.c has been recorded in Shringeri taluk while the least has been in Mudigere with 74.61 p.c.

The percentage of votes  in various taluks is as following:

Chikkamagalur - 77.87 p.c, Kadur - 82.87 p.c, Tarikere taluk - 83.10 p.c,  Koppa - 77.84 p.c and NR Pura - 77.98 p.c.

482775 out of 602978 cast their votes. 245652 are men and 237123 are women.

Re-election today

Reelection will be held for poll booth 35 in Jodikodihalli constituency in Belenahall Gram Panchayat, Tarikere taluk on May 31.

Counting will be done at all taluk centres. For Chikkamagaluru taluk, counting will be done at Government P U College at Belur road. Counting for Kadur taluk will be done at Government P U College,counting for Tarikere will be done at SJM college, counting for Mudigere will be held at D S Biligowda first grade college, counting for Koppa will be held at Mini Vidhana Soudha, counting for N R Pura will held at taluk panchayat office and counting for Shringeri will be held at JCM College.
