JOIN USThe process for receiving new applications for the ration cards and the renewal of the existing ones have begun, which was stopped owing to the recently held assembly elections.
The corrections in the existing ration cards are being carried out. The Aadhaar cards should be submitted along with the application for the new ration cards.
For BPL cards, the applicant should submit income and caste certificate of any family member. Apart from these requirements, the Aadhaar card of any one family member should be linked with his or her phone number. APL card does not require the caste and income certificates, however, the remaining documents should be submitted. With the appropriate documents, the applicants in the rural areas should submit the applications in panchayat office and those residing in urban areas should submit them to the franchisees.
The applicants who had applied in January 2017 need not apply again. The amendments or the inclusion in the BPL cards should be done by submitting the caste and income certificates of the new member. The APL cards do not require the income and caste certificates.
The copy of the renewed ration cards is made available with the Food inspector in taluk office. For more details, the applicants can approach the district food department and the district consumer affairs department.
