Cash Rs 12.94 lakh seized near Nippani

Static Surveillance Team seized (SST) seized cash of Rs 12.94 lakh which were being carried from Mudhaltitta village in Radhanagari taluk in Kolhapur district to Nippani in the state by a person in Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation bus on Monday evening.

Police said Vijay Satappa Sate resident of Thikpurli village in Radhanagari taluk in Kolhapur district had been carrying Rs 12.94 lakh cash in the bus. During checkup of the vehicles, SST noticed the cash in his possession.

As he could not give satisfactory answers about the source and destination of the cash and could not produce documents pertaining to it, cash was confiscated and kept in sub-treasury at Nippani and matter was reported to Redressal Committee. Income Tax Department was also given information about the cash seizure.
