'Chikkamagaluru DCC Bank striving to provide better facilities to customers'

The District Cooperative Central Bank has posted a profit of Rs 252.48 lakh, said Bank president S L Dharme Gowda.

Speaking at the annual general body meeting here on Friday, the president said that the bank has disbursed Rs 454.19-crore loans, of which Rs 361.66 crore is for agriculture sector.

He said that, to provide better services to the customers, the bank has introduced core banking and RTGS, NEFT and SMS alert facilities.

“The bank will distribute ATM cards to its customers shortly. CCTV cameras have been installed in all the branches of the bank. In a move to expand the activities, the DCC Bank proposes to set up nine new branches. The proposal is being verified by the Nabard,” he added.

He said that the weather-based insurance scheme and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) yojana are being implemented in the district. A total of 3518 farmers are covered under weather based insurance scheme and 1476 under Fasal Bima Yojana, he added.
