Chikkamagaluru district in 5th position in SSLC results

The district has jumped to fifth position from 26th position in the SSLC results with a pass pecentage is 86.29.

Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) S G Nagesh told Deccan Herald: “Out of 13,485 students who appeared for the examination, 11,636 students have passed. Eighty-nine schools have secured cent per cent results.”

The DDPI said the department had chalked out many programmes to improve the results. “Missed call, night school and special classes on Saturday and Sunday, orientation programme, passing package and other programmes have improved the results. We had worked to secure anywhere from 15th to 20th position. But thanks to the efforts of teachers, parents and students, the district has excelled and has come fifth. The below-average students were identified and were tutored at the school.”

K R Rashmi of St Mary’s School, Chikkamagaluru, is the district topper with 623 marks. Ananya of JVS School,Chikkamagaluru, is the second topper with 620 marks.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Rashmi said, “Hard work and dedication helped me to excel. Teachers and parents supported me. My father supported me throughout in my studies. I want to be a doctor.”

Rashmi has scored 100 marks in Mathematics, Science, Hindi, Social Science, 124 for 125 in Kannada and 99 out of 100 in English.   

Dikshith N R, the second topper in  St Mary’s School, has scored 617. He has obtained 100 in Mathematics, Kannada and Social Science. He is the son of Raje Gowda and Padmavathi, residents of Kalyananagar Layout.

Neeriksha N P of the school has scored 612. Of the 117 students who appeared for examination, 53 have secured distinction and the rest first class in the school.The school has secured 100 per cent results.
