Last Updated 19 April 2011, 17:52 IST

Addressing the protesters, district convener of the party B V Sampangi said the State government in a bid to appease foreign investors is following anti-worker policy. Encouraging contract system of appointment is one such move, he alleged.

Poor overburdened

The government has not taken any remedial measures to solve the drinking water problems in the district. However, it is over burdening the people by outsourcing the water supply service to private parties, he complained.

The Union government with its liberalisation policy has giving tax rebate for the rich, however has neglected the poor, Sampangi alleged. The government has also failed to provide employment to the youths he added.

B S Nagaratna, Chalapati, Ashok, Muniswamy Gowda, Markandeya, Shashikumar, Rajamma, Ramachandra, Veerabhadraiah, Anand, Srinivas, B V Radha and others led the protest.
