Crop insurance scheme in Kolar district

Farmers should inform the loss sustained within 48 hours to Agricultural Company of India. August 31 is the last day for submitting applications except for rain-dependent paddy.

Farmers who have obtained crop loans must compulsorily insure their crops. Small and marginal farmers are entitled for a rebate of 10 per cent on the premium. Other farmers can pay premium by opening account in the bank of located in respective service areas.

In the present monsoon, irrigated and rain-dependent crops of ragi and groundnut in all Hoblis in Bangarpet taluk can be insured. In only Kyasamballi Hobli, rain-based crop of tur can be insured. In all hoblis of Kolar taluk, rain-dependent crops of ragi can be insured.

Huttur, Kolar Vemagal Hoblis have provision for irrigated crops of ragi; Holur, Sugatur and Vemagal Hoblis have provision for rain-dependent groundnut crop.

In all hoblis of Malur taluk, rain-dependent ragi crop, in kasaba hobli, irrigation-dependent ragi crop, in all hoblis except Tekal, rain-dependent gram crop, in Masti Hobli, rain-dependent groundnut crop, in all Hoblis of Mulbagal taluk, rain-dependent ragi, gram, horse-gram, groundnut as well as rain and irrigation-dependent rice crops can be insured.

All Hoblis of Srinivaspur taluk have provision to insure rain and irrigation-dependent ragi crop and rain-dependent groundnut crop. Ronur and Yaldur Hoblis have provision to insure irrigation-dependent rice crop, Rayalpadu Hobli has provision to insure rain-dependent rice and gram crops.
