Last Updated 28 December 2010, 16:43 IST

Addressing party workers at the meeting held at Bhuvanahalli in the taluk on Monday, Gowda said he struggled hard for opening the Veterinary College in Hassan. He ran from the pillar to the post seeking permission for the college. But the State government has not yet given permission to enroll students.

“I have a great vision for the development of Hassan as one of the model cities in the country. That is possible if the electorate supports  Janata Dal (Secular). I will never retire till the BJP government is thrown out”.

Gowda said he has brought to the notice of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about the hate politics being pursued by the BJP Government. Both Congress and BJP have an hidden agenda to root out JD(S) in the district. That should be defeated only by voters.

When villagers of Bhuvanahalli demanded release of funds for the renovation of Anjaneyaswamy temple, he said there is provision to release funds for the construction of community hall out of Local Area Development Fund but not to build places of worship. However, he would ask his son  H D Revanna to see whether it was possible to release money from any of the scheme. MLA H S Prakash, MLC Patel Shivaram, District JD(S) President H K Javaregowda, former MLA Karigowda, Rajegowda and others were present.
