Vicron-s, a disinfectant, was sprayed on the zoo premises on Wednesday. Zoo workers sprayed the viral disinfectant near the bird enclosures and on the premises to ensure safety of the birds.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The zoo, for the first time in the history of 125 years, remained closed for the public for a month in 2017. The authorities closed the zoo after some free-range and migratory birds died of suspected Avian Influenza (H5N8).</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">Bird flu is a fever affecting birds including chicken, duck and swan. The virus can also be contracted by humans when they come in contact with an infected bird.</p>
