DSS stages protest in Chikmagalur

 Dalit Sangharsha Samiti volunteers staged a protest on Wednesday, outside Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding action against the upper caste people who posed atrocities on Dalits at Hyarambipura in Khandya hobli. They said that Dalits Lakshmaiah, Ravi, Ganesh, Mahesh, Chaudaiah were attacked by a group of upper caste people on November 17 at 7 pm when the victims told the group not to sell liquor in the village. The assaulters later went to Aldoor police station and filed a fake complaint against the Dalits and accordingly the police had taken the Dalits to the station late in the night for interrogation, protesters informed and demanded arrest of the assaulters at the earliest.
