Elephant dies of cardiac arrest

A female elephant, Maithili, died of a heart attack on Tuesday at Dubare elephant camp.

After giving birth to two calves at the camp, the 52-year-old Maithili was suffering from illness for the last few days.

Her condition worsened on Monday. Hunasoor Wildlife Division, Veterinary Doctor, Dr Mujeed, had treated the elephant. However, on Tuesday morning she died of cardiac arrest.
