More than 40 families belonging to Scheduled Tribe were living in the area. Of them. eight families below poverty line had built houses considering it a barren plot belonging to the government. They were also cleared in the encroachment clearance drive.

The land (survey no 16/4) owned by Srinivas Gowda had moved the District Civil court appealing to clear houses built illegally on the land. The court had directed to clear encroachment. However, it was challenged by the families and filed a petition in the High Court. But the High Court upheld the lower court’s order.
