Farmers in Sringeri taluk have offered special prayers at Shanta Rishyashringeshwara Temple, for lesser rains.

The farmers offered Rudrabhisheka pooja to the Lord, who is popularly known as the rain God. They also prayed that the crops be protected.

Prior to the pooja, they also visited the Gurunivasa at Nrisimhavana and offered prayers before Sringeri Mutt seer Bharathiteertha Swami.

Kigga Rudrahoma Committee President Toranagadde Nataraj, agriculturists Kacchodi Shrinivasa, Gandaghatta Manjunath and Srinivas Naik were present.

It has been an old age custom to offer prayers at Rishyashringeshwara Temple in Kigga, whenever there is no rain or excessive rain.
