Homemaker found dead in Kolar

Police identified the dead as Sheikh Sultana, who was married to Shahanaz, a native of Andersonpet in KGF, for 18 years.

They added that Shahanaz and his family harassed Sultana. She could have committed suicide unable to bear the torture from her husband and in-laws, they added.

Three people have been arrested in this regard, police said. A case has been registered.

Two arrested

Kolar police on Wednesday conducted a surprise raid and arrested two men for placing bets on the India-Pakistan semi-final match.

Police arrested Kamal Singh, a resident of Kataripalya and Manjunath, of Gauripet and seized Rs 39,000.

Acting on a tip, the police raided two houses in the city. Two case have been registered.
