The Income Tax (I-T) and election flying squad sleuths on Friday seized documents from the residence and office of industrialist Shakeel Shaikh, a close aide of Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency JD(S) candidate Anand Asnotikar.
The sleuths conducted searches at Auto Mark office owned jointly by Shaikh and Tabrez Shaikh.
In Udupi, the sleuths searched the residence of Saifuddin, the owner of AKMS buses at Athradi. The sleuths seized jewellery from the the house of Saifuddin's friend Akram at Malpe, according to sources.
Transfer of money in view of Lok Sabha polls led to the searches and seizures, added the sources.
