JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda on Monday said JD(S) will field candidates in all the constituencies in the State in the forthcoming the upcoming zilla and taluk panchayat elections.

After inaugurating a taluk-level party workers meeting at Gomathi Community Hall here, he said it is important to strengthen the party from the grassroots level.

He said he has already visited Belagavi in this regard and will meet party workers at all taluk headquarters after Deepavali. The claims that JD(S) is limited only to old Mysuru  will be a thing of the past as he has been travelling North Karnataka region, seeking the support of the voters, Deve Gowda  said.

CMC president flayed

Gowda claimed that councillor Srividya, elected from JD(S) who was also elected as CMC president later, has cheated the party. She has joined hands with the Congress to retain the post and has let down the party, he criticised.

Speaking on the Sigaranahalli issue where tension prevails following the entry of Dalits into the temple, Deve Gowda said attempts are being made by vested interests to hurt the sentiments of a section of the people.

Not only Dalits, even Vokkaligas are not allowed entry into the sanctum sanctorum. Villages are adopting certain traditions and practices, which should not be questioned for personal reasons, he felt.

Answering a query on consumption of beef, Deve Gowda  said people have all the rights to decide what they are willing to eat and what to be shunned from their plate.

He categorically said discussion on food habits is unnecessary. No person has the right to question or stress others on their choice of food, he added.
