JD(S) State president and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has said that KJP does not have any aim and objectives in politics. It does not have any development agenda for the welfare of the State.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the inauguration of a convention of JD(S) Minority Christianity wing under the theme ‘Love, peace, harmony’ here on Saturday, he said former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has floated the KJP to cover up his mistakes with the help of a national party.

“Yeddyurappa wanted to save himself from the clutches of the law. So he has entered into an internal alliance with another national party (Congress).

The atrocity on minorities had increased during his tenure as Chief Minister in the State. How come he has become enlightened all of a sudden and started speaking on the preachings of Basavanna?” he asked.

Corporation

Kumaraswamy said that if the JD(S) comes to power in the coming Assembly election, then it will create a Corporation for the welfare of Christians. Although a minority corporation is already in existence, it is aimed at development of Muslims and is also headed by Muslim candidates.

“The JD(S) will try to give representation to Christians in the coming election. The JD(S) had supported the cause of Christians when the Hindu outfits had attacked a few churches in Mangalore,” he added.

Members of Christian community are known for patience, peace and harmony. The BJP and the Congress is trying to divide the society in the name of caste and religion in Dakshina Kannada district. “The two national parties have been trying to play on the emotions of the people, for getting political mileage and try to create unrest in the society,” he added.

Though Dakshina Kannada district is rich educationally and economically, there is a kind of insecurity feeling among the members of minority community. He called upon the participants to support the JD(S) for the welfare of the State.

“Karnataka was known for its administration in the past. However, the administrative machinery has collapsed in the last four-and-half-years. The name and the fame of Karnataka has been spoiled by the BJP through its corrupt activities,” he said.

Kumaraswamy accused the Congress of misusing the CBI. If the Congress had initiated tough action against those who were responsible for the demolition of Babri masjid, then the country would not have witnessed any kind of communal violence. The Congress has several hidden agendas, for its selfish interest. The UPA government has failed to check the rise in the price of essential commodities.

The BJP has been misusing youth in the name of Hindu culture and tradition, he said.
Former chief minister warned RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat of dire consequences for his actions, if the JD(S) comes to power.

“The act of Hindu outfits in the name of protecting culture and tradition is in fact aimed at disrespecting the Hindus. You have been sowing the seeds of hatredness among the religion. We will not allow you to do so in the future,” he added.

JD(S) leaders Zameer Ahmed, David Simiyon, Sushil Noronha, Amarnath Shetty, Nagaraj Shetty, Sadananda Shetty, M B Sadashiv, Madhu Bangarappa and others were present.
