Lad from Chikkamagaluru enters Asia Book of Records

Hamdi Imran, a class 10 student of Vasavi Vidyalaya in Chikkamagaluru has entered the Asia Book of Records under the painting category.

Addressing a press meet on Wednesday, Shahida Sabana, mother of Hamdi said that after considering over 400 paintings drawn by him at a young age, the Asia Book of Records has issued the youngest artist certificate to him.

“He entered the Asia Book of Records on September 24 and the certificate reached him on November 10. Last year, he had entered India Book of Records,” said Shahida.

She said that Hamdi has been interested in drawing from a very young age.

“He had exhibited his talent during Pratibha Karanji while he was studying in the third standard. He draws pencil sketch, charcoal, crayons, acrylic, oil and watercolour paintings. His artworks have been exhibited at national and international online galleries as well.”

He also takes part in online competitions organised by Picaso and has won several awards in painting.

Hamdi’s father Khalin Imran and art teacher R M Kattimani were present.
