Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, on Friday, expressed his unhappiness over choosing Yogi Adityanath as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking to reporters after attending a private programme here Gowda said that Yogi is someone seen as a Hindutva (Hindu nationalist) firebrand.

Uttar Pradesh has several burning problems, which are all very sensitive. “We will have to wait and watch how he tackle these problems,” Gowda said.

Gowda said, his political innings is not yet over and will continue his struggle even during the 2018 Assembly elections and beyond.

“The much-awaited rail service between Yeshwantpur-Hassan has become a reality and the service will be launched on March 26. Initially, three trains will ply between Bengaluru and Hassan. I have written letters to the state and Central governments to name the trains after Gommateshwara, Hemavathi and Kalabhairaveshwara,” he said.
