During summer the bus stop is full of dust and in the rainy season it is clogged completely.
It has been fifteen years since the KSRTC bus stand, next to the National Highway 7, been  shifted to its  current place. However, the condition of the bus stand continues to be the same. Moreover, it is only the old bus stop that is being used. As a result the passengers continue to stand beside NH 7 to board the bus. Chikkaballapur is now a district centre and a national highway cuts through the district, allowing for a lot of vehicular movement.

Despite all these developments there seems to be no full -fledged bus stand. The new bus stand is being constructed on the now dried up Thimme Gowda tank. There are so many potholes in the bus stand that plying of the buses is near to impossible.

Narrow road
All the buses will have to pass through M G Road before reaching the bus stand. However, M G Road is narrow, making the movement of buses tough. In addition to this there is an APMC market on M G Road. Every Saturday, Monday and Wednesday, farmers from nearby villages bring their produce to the market and thus the density of people on these days is very high, thus leading to congestion.

Old bus stop
Eventhough, the old bus stop is next to NH7  it remains underdeveloped. Passengers will have to wait in the sun as there is no bus shelter. Chennaiah park is right next to the old bus stop. The KSRTC had designed a detailed proposal to convert this park into a full-fledged bus stop. However, this proposal has been halted owing to the directive of the Court, which does not allow parks to be utilised for other purposes. Thus, lack of basic facilities at the City’s bus stand needs to be addressed immediately.
