Third round of INAC Dirt Cross Mysore tomorrow

City hosting the event after a gap of seven years, say organisers

After two rounds of the inaugural FMSCI Indian National Autocross Championship – Round three is all set to vroom in the heritage city of Mysore.

Wynnsport, the promoter of the series, in association with An Open Mind (AOM) as principal associate, is bringing this event to the motorsport enthusiasts in the city.

The event will be organised by the IMSC and presented by Mysore Automotive Racing Club (MARC) and will be held at the grounds adjacent to Hotel Lalitha Mahal Palace in the city on September 9.

This event has attracted participants from across the country in the four-wheeler section. Ranjith Ballal leads the Championship in the 850 cc, up to 1150cc and the Gypsy class after 2 round and is second in the 1400 cc class.

Den Thimmaiyah of Team R3A run by PGA motorsports the only team entry in the Championship leads the 1400 cc class. B S Rudresh is 2nd in the 850 CC class followed by Ashok Mudigere. In the up to 1150 CC class Suchindra S P is second followed by Lokesh Gowda. Aditya K H is 3rd in the 1400 CC class.

The 1600 CC class is led by Vishal G A followed by Chetan Shivram in second and Shefeeq-ur–Rehman in third slot. Chetan Shivram leads the 3000 CC Championship followed by Lohit Urs and Rahul Kanthraj both from Team R3A.

Shafeeq –ur – Rehman is second in the Gypsy class followed by Philip Thomas. In the ladies class Ashika M again of Team R3A leads the championship followed by Anita Kholay and Veena Ponnappa. All these leading drivers are a part of the starting grid in Mysore.

The event is conducted by Mysore Automotive Racing Club (MARC) of Anil Sadanand, a passionate and successful racer himself from Mysore, who began his career in motocross in 1986.

The FMSCI INAC will be the official National Autocross Championship, run under the aegis of the FIA and is subject to regulations laid down by the FIA.

The event will carry attractive prizes and trophies amounting to Rs 1.5 lakh and has got more than 100 entries. Team R3A of PGA Motorsports who are leading the Overall Team championship and Driver championship in 3 classes have given 8 entries in 4 Classes for 3rd round in Mysore. 

The track will accommodate 2 cars and the process of qualifying for the overall prizes has got an exciting format. There will be one qualifying round of two laps.  After the qualifying round six cars from each class will run for the finals. 

The finals will be run over a minimum of two and a maximum of four laps based on the decision of the Clerk of the Course (COC). The order of start will be based on the timings in the qualifying with the slowest two cars in the qualifying running first. The top 3 drivers of the finals depending on the number of entries in the said class will be eligible for the Prizes. An All Women’s class is also a part of the entire Championship.
