Top rallyists to participate in Rally D Mysore on Sunday

Kodava Samaja Cultural and Sports Club has organised ‘Rally D Mysore’ in association with Indian Motor Sports Club for two wheeler and four wheeler on April 1, said president of Club Mechanda M Karumbaiah.

Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, he said, the rally will be inaugurated at 9am at Hotel The Roost by superintendent of police R Dileep. Valedictory of the rally will be on the same day at 7.30 pm and police commissioner K L Sudheer will be the guest for the programme.

Associate of Indian Motor Sports Club, Mangalore, Lohit Urs said, the rally of 150-200 kilometers will start from Hotel The Roost and through interior roads of KRS, Gommatagiri, Bilikere, K R Nagar, Hunsur road and will reach The Roost. First, second and third prize winners of car rally will be awarded with cash prize of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and 10,000 respectively and for two wheeler prize amount is Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000.

“The rally would be of TSD (time, speed, distance) format. It is not a high speed rally. Many top TSD experts from Bangalore, Mangalore, Kerala, Kodagu and other places would be participating. Mysore has always been very active in motor sports but there was no such event in Mysore since years. The rally would be very adventurous with deviations and variations in roads and speed,” Lohith said.

Registration for four wheeler for the rally is Rs 2,500 and for bike it is Rs 1,500. Essential medical facility would be provided throughout the rally, he added.
