Two cabinet berths for Chikmagalur district demanded

Speaking to the media persons on Monday District BJP Unit President M K Pranesh said that BJP leaders have responded positively to the request of the District BJP Unit. Members of district BJP have planned to felicitate the new Chief Minister and the ministers from the district after the cabinet expansion, he said.When he was asked if they have selected the candidate in case Sadananda Gowda resigns. He said that there are many willing candidates in the party who wish to contest the election.

The BJP party’s district leaders will obey the decision taken by the top party leaders, he said.

Resort

Pranesh who is also the Chairman of Aranya Vasathi Vihara Nigama informed that a proposal has been submitted to the government seeking permission to build a resort at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore at Malaya Marutha in Mudigere taluk and the Board is waiting for the government’s nod. If the government approves the proposal then 12 cottages will be built in the place.

He informed that the construction work of a resort at a cost of Rs nine crore is going on at Kemmannu Gundi. Likewise an Island resembling Sri Lanka will be set up in Bhadra backwaters in Lakkavalli. There are plans to build 100 metre ropeway to the island for the convenience of the tourists. The construction cost of ropeway for about one metre would cost Rs 40,000, he said.
