Voters' helpline centres to aid citizens in Chikkaballapur

The voters helpline will function for 24 hours

Tahsildar D B Natesh has requested the voters to contact voters’ helpline centres that have been opened at the taluk office and the office of the City Municipal Council, with regards to any clarifications or doubts on getting their names registered in the voters’ list or with regards to voting.

Speaking with mediapersons here on Saturday, he said any doubts with regards to addition of names, deletion of names, rectification of mistakes in the voters’ list, the voters can approach the voters’ helpline and seek help.

The voters can fill-in the respective application forms with their doubts and get them clarified.

The voters’ helplines will be open 24 hours and the voters can submit the application forms, with the help of staff at the centres.

Need week’s time

Once the applications are submitted, it will take a week’s time to attend to the application in toto.

The voters can delete or add their names or get their mistakes rectified and get any other issues resolved pertaining to voters’ list, before April 11.

The applications received after April 11 will be considered only after the elections are over, the tahsildar informed.

Natesh said there are as many as 1,69,268 voters in the Chikkaballapur Assembly constituency limits and among them, 86,240 of them are men and 83,027 are women voters. Polling will take place in 226 polling booths and preparations were on pertaining to the smooth conduct of polling.

Apart from the helplines at taluk office centres and the office of the City Municipal Council, they are also being opened at the Atalji Janasnehi Centres at Nandi and Mandikal villages too to help the residents.

In Gauribidanur

The voters’ helpline centre has also been opened at the Atalji Janasnehi Centre in Manchenahalli village of Gauribidnur taluk, he said.

The helplines have been opened so that each one gets an opportunity to vote and none is deprived of his chance to exercise his franchise in the Assembly elections. Besides, it helps in addressing the problems in the voters’ list. Apart from checking repeated names, the helplines will make the voters’ list accurate. Every voter, above the age of 18 years, must cast his vote,” Natesh emphasises.
