DKS will soon be troublesome for Congress: Shettar

Last Updated 01 May 2019, 11:16 IST

Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar said Minister D K Shivakumar, who was so far considered as the troubleshooter in Congress, will soon become troublesome to the party.

Speaking to media here on Sunday, he did not elaborate on why Shivakumar would become troublesome to Congress but repeated that Congress will repent for putting all its eggs into Shivakumar’s basket.

“Whenever there is a crisis, Congress has been falling back on Shivakumar. However, it may do same in few days,” he said.

He also ‘sympathised’ with the Congress that they could not find a single Congress leader from North Karnataka to give charge of the Kundgol constituency, which is going to polls on May 19. “Isn’t there single Congress leader left in North Karnataka that a leader from South Karnataka is being entrusted with polls here,” he asked.

As per the agreement

Shettar justified giving party ticket to Avinash, son of BJP Gulbarga candidate Umesh Jadav. At the time of switchover BJP had assured Umesh that party would give Chincholi assembly ticket to a candidate suggested by Jadav, and as perper our word, we are giving a ticket to Avinash, he said.

Shettar also charged that State government is hurrying to complete projects under Nava Bengaluru, which it had not done for the last nine months, so as to repay the financial help JD(S) party had received from the contractors during the Lok Sabha Election.

“Projects worth Rs 4,200 crore of BBMP has been allotted to Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL), much against the rules, so that the projects can be assigned to JD(S)-friendly contractors, without calling for tenders,” he said and added KRIDL Managing Director Venkatesh is a close relative of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda.
