JOIN USThe chief electoral officer has written to the state government seeking information on the alleged violation of code of conduct with regards to providing approval for the setting up of new Pre-University colleges.
Sanjiv Kumar, chief electoral officer said, "We have read various newspaper reports in this regard and have written to the State government about this," he said.
Meanwhile, an RTI activist, Marilingegowda Mali Patil has also written to the Election Commission said that he would approach the chief minister in this regard. Minister for Primary and Secondary Education N Mahesh had sought files with regards to the approval of the 84 PU colleges and an inquiry has been ordered in this regard. Shalini Rajaneesh could not be reached for reaction.
