Ex-MLA Ravindra passes away

Former MLA, M P Ravindra (49), son of former deputy chief minister M P Prakash, passed away due to multiple organ failure in the wee hours of Saturday.

The former MLA of Harapanahalli constituency was admitted to Vikram Hospital on October 29 due to pneumonia, which later developed into severe septicemia leading to multiple organ failure.

The former legislator’s final rites will be performed at his hometown of Huvina Hadagali in Ballari district on Sunday.

Condoling Ravindra’s death, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said that he has lost a dear friend.

“I am deeply pained to hear about the death of Ravindra. He was a dear friend to me and his death is a personal loss. Ravindra was a progressive thinker. His contribution to the state cooperative sector is notable. May his soul rest in peace and God give strength to his family and friends to bear the loss,” the chief minister said.

Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara, former chief minister Siddaramaiah and other leaders too condoled his death.
