Farmer and his wife end life in Mandya

A farmer and his wife committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Bommenahalli in K R Pet taluk of Mandya district on Monday night. 

It is said that heavy debts drove Boralinge Gowda (60) and Lakshmamma (52) to take the extreme step. They committed suicide at their field near Mutturaya Temple.

A few local residents spotted the bodies in the field and alerted the police. They had borrowed over Rs 6 lakh from banks and money lenders and were unable to repay the loans.
