Father, son abducted in Mysore

Personal enmity is suspected to be the reason behind kindnap

P M Mohan Kumar (47) had brought his son Tushar (12), to Chetana Trust Mental Health Care Centre in Yadavagiri for counselling. When they were heading towards their car around 10.30 am, a five-member gang dragged them into a four-wheeler and drove away. Eventhough, Mohan Kumar raised an alarm, people could not rush to their help.

Rajesh, who owns a shop nearby, said a man was first pushed into the vehicle, even as the boy stood crying. Later, the boy too was dragged into the vehicle.
Dr Vidyasagar, who had counselled Tushar, a few minutes before the kidnap, said that he learnt about the incident from an employee of the trust.

Following information from the police, Kavitha, Mohan Kumar’s wife arrived at V V Puram police station. When she answered a call on her cell phone from her husband's mobile phone, one of the abductors told her that Mohan Kumar and Tushar have been kidnapped. He wanted her to come to Mysore at the earliest.

According to police sources, the kidnappers have not demanded any ransom yet. They suspect personal enmity behind the kindap. Tushar, a fifth standard at Sainik School in Kudige in Kodagu was complaining of stomach ache, during examination time. Dr Vidyasagar had advised Mohan Kumar that his son needed counselling. Accordingly, he had brought his son to the city.

A native of Gummanakolli, Mohan Kumar is running KMT Public School in Madapura in Kodagu district. Police said five teams have been formed to nab the kidnappers and they have been sent to Kodagu, Bangalore and Tumkur. Police suspect that the kidnappers were in Tumkur district.
