To address the growing traffic problems in Bengaluru city, peripheral ring road and elevated roads will be built and the foundation stone for the project will be laid next month, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said on Saturday.

Participating in a media event here, the CM said the government was serious in addressing the traffic problem by improving the infrastructure of the city.

"Already the first phase of metro rail works completed and second phase works are going on and the government will give approval to the third phase of the project soon," he said.

Petrol under GST :

The CM also said he was against bringing fuel prices under GST. Since the implementation of GST, the states are left with only three sources to raise the revenue- fuel, excise and stamp duty imposed on land registration.

Keeping the state's revenue in mind, bringing the fuel prices under GST was not practical, he said.

Govt is Stable :

Kumaraswamy also said coalition government is stable and will complete full five years term without any hitch.

He said Congress president Rahul Gandhi fully backed him.

When asked about the Cabinet expansion, he said: " it is not a big issue".

The chief minister also said, "there is no super CM in the government and people of Karnataka are super CM."

He also sought the Centre's help to resolve the interstate water dispute.
