Four drown in Raichur

Three girls, all aged about 10, slipped and fell in a lake on Tuesday noon at Pooratipli village near Raichur taluk. Ambamma, one of the victims, who was bathing in the lake slipped and drowned in the lake. Two other girls Channamma and Shanthamma who went to her rescue also slipped and died.

Police with the help of villagers fished out the bodies. A case has been registered by the Yeragera police.  

Rain proves fatal

In another incident Anand (18) was washed away in the Tungabhadra river, near Manvi taluk on Tuesday. Anand had accompanied his father to repair the pump set. He slipped into the river, as the region was slippery owing to heavy rain on Monday night. His body is yet to be traced.  A case has been registered by the Manvi police.
