Four killed in accident near Bagalkot

Four people were killed and eight more injured  after a multiutility vehicle rammed a ‘tum-tum’ near Achanur Cross in the taluk on Friday.

According to police, Renuka Barigidada (43), Rathnavva Malakasetty (48) and Sunil Kottal (29) were killed on the spot while Mudiyappa Pagada  breathed his last on the way to a hospital.

A majority of the injured have sustained grievous injuries on the head and the condition of two of them is stated to be serious.

All the victims were returning from a temple by ‘tum-tum’ when the speeding MUV coming from the opposite direction rammed it. Rural police have registered a case.
