'Give adequate compensation to flood-hit'

People, especially farmers, have lost their crops, houses and their relatives. But the State government is giving them a paltry sum of Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 under the CRF. “The State must chalk out its own guidelines to compensate the loss. Nobody is preventing the State government from increasing the compensation amount,” he stated.

Farmers’ loans in the affected districts should be waived off, besides extending interest free loans for the next three years, he said. Revanna alleged that the chief minister and his colleagues are wasting time by holding meetings with officials in Bangalore.
He demanded that the chief minister should set up taluk-level committees to oversee implementation of flood relief and rehabilitation works.
