Gowda supports govt on airstrikes

Former prime minister and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda on Tuesday said that he and his party supported the operations conducted by the Indian Air Force.

"It is inevitable for the Centre to take steps to eliminate terrorists," he said.

Speaking at Arkalgud in the district, Gowda supported the Centre, saying, “We are with you. I had earlier suggested Modi to finish off terrorists if necessary. But, it is very important to be cautious while taking any step”, he suggested.

Gowda did not refrain from attacking the BJP and indirectly said, "Those in power should not break the country in the name of religion and caste."
