GST Enforcement Joint Commissioner Ravi Sanctus revealed that after the e-way bill came into effect, 23,300 vehicles were checked and Rs 3.30 crore fine was collected.

As many as 150 cases pertaining to GST violations have been booked in goods vehicle raids. More evasion cases might be unearthed in coming months, he added.

Shopping malls, business complexes, driving schools, security service providers, tour operators, hospitals, function halls, societies, medicine manufacturers and contractors were raided.

Certain online payment gateways have also defaulted in paying GST.

GST came into effect one year ago, and in the beginning traders were given time to adjust to the new tax system. Awareness programmes were also conducted.
