JOIN USChief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for claiming that India saw “good governance” under his leadership over the past five years.
In a series of tweets, Kumaraswamy asked Modi a number of questions, thereby highlighting “failures” of the Modi administration.
Remarks
“Dear PM, you claim to have given a good governance. Was it good that unemployment in India touched a 45-year high? Was it good that poor, lower middle class people suffered to make both ends meet due to cash crunch during demonetisation? Did it eliminate black money as you promised? Was it good to see farmers march against Union Government as their problems were not addressed? Was it good to make labourers wait for wages under MGNREGA for months together? In our own state, Rs 1,500 crore funds are pending,” Kumaraswamy tweeted.
The CM was responding to Modi’s speech at Bagalkot, making this the latest duel between the two this election season. During his poll campaigns in Karnataka, Modi has consistently targeted Kumaraswamy and the coalition government he heads.
“PM Modi alleged opposition parties use emotions for votes. But it is Mr Modi himself who is playing with the emotions of people in the name of religion and terrorism. Had he been confident of his development work to bring in votes, why would he resort to propaganda movie and TV channel in his name,” Kumaraswamy asked.
