Heavy rain pounds Chikkaballapur, Mandya

Heavy rain coupled with gusty wins lashed Chikkaballapur on Saturday evening. Power supply was affected as several trees were uprooted due to strong winds.

Three tractors, tippers and a goods vehicle were damaged after a huge tree fell on them on the premises of the city municipal office. Another tree was uprooted on the road near CSI hospital, affecting movement of vehicles. Rainwater gushed into low-lying areas. Parts of Mandya district received rain  on Saturday.

While the rainfall was heavy in KR Pet, it was average in parts of Malavalli and Nagamangala taluks.
The weather in the rest of the district was cloudy throughout the day.
