Heavy rains lash Bellary

Several trees were uprooted as unseasonal hailstorms, accompanied by heavy wind, struck Bellary city and other parts of the district on Wednesday evening.

Huge trees came crashing down and the roofs of several huts were flown away when it began raining at 5 pm. The showers continued for around two hours. 

More than 40 sheep died due to the rain at Honnalli on the outskirts of Kapagallu village. The hailstones which were strewn on the streets of the city resembled pearls. There were reports of unseasonal rains in Sandur and other places of the district too.
