Heavy rains lash Shimoga district

Heavy rains continued to lash various parts of the district on Monday.

According to sources, Theerthahalli, Sagar and Hosanagar taluks received a  good spell of rains. A fisherman was said to have  been washed away in river Tunga on Sunday in Shimoga city. According to eyewitnesses, he was casting his net when he lost balance and fell in the river.

The body is yet to be recovered.
