Heavy rains continued to lash the Maland region on Tuesday, causing a flood in Thirthahalli, Hosanagara and some areas of Shivamogga city.
Several houses in various parts of the Thirthahalli taluk are flooded. A landslide was reported on Beguvalli tank-bund road on Shivamogga-Thirthahalli stretch.
Nearly 20 houses were flooded at Seegehatti in Shivamogga city.
As much as 30,000 cusecs of water was released from the Linganamakki dam as it was close to the maximum level of 1819 feet.
Vehicular movement between Shivamogga and Bhadravathi was suspended as the bridge is submerged underwater near Mandagadde in Thirthahalli taluk.
