JOIN US107 remain in fray for 29 seats in Kodagu ZP
The list of party wise candidates is as follows: 29 candidates from the Congress, 29 from BJP, 22 from JD(S), 1 from BSP, 1 from CPI, from CPI(M) and 24 independent candidates have remained in fray in 11 Zilla Panchayat constituencies of Virajpet taluk. As for as Somwarpet taluk is concerned, 11 candidates from the Congress, 11 from the BJP, 10 from the JD(S), 1 from the BSP, 1 from the CPI(M) and 11 independent candidates have remained in fray in 11 ZP constituencies.
In Madikeri taluk, three of the Zilla Panchayat independent candidates have withdrawn their nomination forms on Thursday. Jalaja Chandrashekhar, K K Ramachandra from Bhagamandala and Mandrira R Sharada from Kadagadalu constituency have withdrew their nominations.
161 in fray
As for as the Taluk Panchayat elections are concerned, 161 candidates in 49 Taluk Panchayat constituencies of Madikeri, Somwarpet and Virajpet have remained in fray. None of the candidates from Madikeri Taluk Panchayat have withdrawn their nomination on Thursday. Four candidates in Somwarpet Taluk Panchayat and 12 candidates from Virajpet TP have withdrawn their nominations on Thursday.
In the 11 constituencies of Madikeri Taluk Panchayat , 10 Congress candidates, 11 BJP candidates, nine JD(S) candidates and five independent candidates have remained in fray.
In 19 constituencies of Virajpet TP, Congress and BJP have fielded candidates in all the constituencies, while eight candidates from JD(S), two from CPI, one from CPI(M) and eight independent candidates have remained in fray.
As for as Somwarpet Taluk Panchayat is concerned, Congress, BJP and JD(S) have fielded candidates in all 19 constituencies, while CPI has fielded one candidate and 11 independent candidates have remained in fray.
As a whole, among 49 total constituencies in three Taluk Panchayats, Congress has fielded 48 candidates, BJP 49, JD(S) 36, one from CPI(M) and 24 independent candidates are contesting in the elections.
